mission models paint Features: Odorless and Non-Toxic Sprays and Finishes like a Lacquer in a pure water based formula. Equally suitable for airbrush and brush painting. A few drops of MMP Poly creates a durable automotive grade urethane finish in all MMP paint and clear coats, MMP poly is not needed in primer. Adheres to plastic, resin, metal, Lexan, polycarbonate, foam and more with proper surface prep Because there are no additives in the paint, there is no shelf life with proper care and storage. Easy clean-up with water and MMP thinner. DO NOT use lacquer thinner, ammonia or alcohol based products. These will gum up the paint and clog the airbrush. the polyurethane, primers and clear coats are temperature sensitive products. COLOR CHANGE
Mission Models Color Change is delivers a subtle color change side cast and highlight effect.
The pigment is suspended in a clear carrier and can be sprayed over any base coat.
We suggest experimenting to find the desired effect.
The possibilities are endless.
Example Color: Change Blue over Starship Pearl White will give a subtle metallic blue rolling effect when viewed from different angles.
METALLICS
All paints are airbrush ready. By nature all paint may vary in consistency based on pigment. You may find some paints to be slightly thicker than others which are natural properties of paint. We do not add any additional additives to our paints which results in no shelf life , hard settles or breakdown.
PEARLS AND IRIDESCENT
Mission Models Pearl and Iridescent paints are very easy to use. Spray over any metallic base coat such as aluminum , silver etc. Feel free to experiment to find the look your after.
We recommend using a .2mm and up needle and nozzle when spraying pearls.
CLEAR COATS
Mission Models Clear coats are a pure acrylic water based top coat. Due to the nature of our unique formula Mission Models clear coats are extremely durable and glass smooth when used properly. Our top coats will accept all decal setting solutions , washes , filters and are chemically resistant.
Want to dip clear parts? Thin our Gloss coat to a water like consistency dip your clear parts wick off extra and let air dry or under UV/IR lights.
We recommend adding just a few drops of Mission Models MMA-002 or 003 to the gloss and airbrushing in light wet coats and building up for a flawless lacquer like finish. We also recommend spraying between 10 and 15 psi Please see our product support page for more tricks , tips and usage guide lines.

PRIMERS
We offer five essential primer colors. Our primer is smooth and durable. No sanding needed. Will not hide the finest of details. Please note you must use our thinner with our primers. No substitutions. MMP thinner activates MMP primer. There are no tricks. Just mix the thinner MMP Primer and spray. MMP thinner is very powerful which means minimal thinner is needed. If the Primer is translucent when spraying you have over thinned. MMP Primer may look a bit thicker than normal. That is OK!
WEATHERING COLORS

THINNERS / POLY INTERMIX
MMP Thinner is a powerful acrylic non-solvent based reducer. Only the smallest amount of MMP thinner is needed when reducing MMP Paint and Primer.
MMP Polyurethane Intermix is an acrylic non-solvent based paint additive. After reducing your paint with MMP Thinner add one or two drops of MMP Polyurethane. Less is more! MMP Poly will increase flow from the airbrush , slower drying times , added blending times for fine brush painting , durability and increased leveling properties. In addition you will find a durable finish with a slight eggshell finish which is perfect for washes eliminating the need for further clear coating.
If you add too much Poly to your paint you will find that your paint will pull from the surface and away from raised details , beading etc... If by chance you add too much Poly be patient. It will dry and auto level.
MMP Paint is very easy to use. We recommend thinning to the following ratio for the best performance. Below are some basic examples. For best performance please follow our carefully researched ratios.
DO NOT MIX 50/50. Our thinner is very powerful and only the smallest amount of thinner is needed. In the mixing cup your reduced paint will appear thicker than what you may be used to. This is normal. MMP paint will dry smooth, thin and level. It will not hide the finest of details. Mixed properly you will find a beautiful opaque finish which requires minimal coats.
Below is a sample mixing ratio
20 to 30% MMP thinner to 2 parts paint ( 2 or 3 drops thinner to 20 drops paint plus 2 drops of Poly. Typically 1 part equals 10 drops.
PSI 10 , 15 , 20 depending on your needs.
TIP: add one or two drops of MMP Polyurethane Intermix for additional reduced tip dry when spraying straight from the bottle. MMP Poly increases flow , lowers drying times , added leveling , increased blending when brush painting, durability and adds a slight eggshell finish. As modelers we highly recommend this as an option.
CHROME, BRASS, GOLD / GLOSS BLACK BASE AND GLOSS WHITE BASE
Mission Models Chrome, Brass, Gold with Glass Black Base or Gloss White Base are very easy to use. Although they can be thinned to meet your needs, there is no need as they can be used straight from the bottle. The MMP Gloss Black Base is what allows the chrome to "reflect" like a mirror. The smoother and glossier the Gloss Black or Gloss White base is applied, the better the effect will be.
Gloss White base will result in a brighter finish.
Applying MMP Chrome, Gold or Brass finish requires a different technique than using standard MMP paints. Please see the FAQ section of this website for additional information and application instruction. MMP Chrome is made with finely processed 6061 Aluminum and is extremely durable when dry.
