Here is a VERY VERY OLD tin FARM FEED PAN or baking pan, probably hand made in 1800s. This is quite large, larger than most baking pans, which leads me to believe it has a more Outside use; Feeding the chickens or whatever.
Sides are made of heavy tin or other metal, with LAPPED Corners, tops and bottoms.
Handles are heavy guage wire, and they seem to be hand made, primitive looking, and not quite exactly the same. Riveted to sides with some old rivets that look like they are hand-flattened on the inside.
What I think is so quaint about this pan, is IT IS NOT A SQUARE OR RECTANGLE, since the one side is slightly longer than the other. You can see this in the pictures.
The pan itself is Very old, but the BITTERSWEET paint is newer, and distressed. I would not use this to bake!
NOTE!! I am using the term TIN to denote a metal that is tin or tin-like, but I really do not know what the metal composition is.
SIZE: One side is 18" long, other is 15 1/2". The adjoining sides are 15". Height is about 4".
CONDITION: VERY OLD, with some scratches, blemishes. Handle and all sides are INTACT, no broken corners or handles. There are a couple bends. Again, PAINT is newer, and sealed for durability. I took lots of pictures, so please use those to determine condition. NOT mint but very nice. Overall, a wonderful ANTIQUE pan, with a newer paint finish, that will look fantastic in a Primitive or Country Decor.
Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
